A Church Near the Zocalo

I wish I could find out the name of this church.  I discovered it on a random walk through the neighborhood surrounding my hotel.

I loved the weather down there, occasional rain and cooler temperatures that compared favorably to San Antonio.

This was a beautiful sight on a chilly and rainy day.  I enjoyed looking at this Cathedral from my hotel room all week.

Chapultepec Castle

One of the first activities I participated in after arrival in Mexico City was to attend a concert at Chapultepec Castle.  The concert was performed by university students and was quite professional for that level.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any pictures of the performers due to it being a distraction for them. FYI, this castle is most famous for being the home of Emperor Maximilian I and Empress Carlota.  I took this exterior shot as I was walking up the hill to the castle.

Finally, I got to visit Mexico City!  It's a shame I've lived so close for so many years and never made it there (although I've traveled almost everywhere else).  A few minutes after I arrived at my hotel, the staff brought this plate of treats to my room.  I appreciated the personal touch of adding my name in chocolate.
