Travel The World

Can you see them?  I counted four deer but only see three in the picture.  The novelty is wearing off after living in this area the last three months and after having seen so many deer just loitering in my front yard.  

I took a nice drive down to Martin County, Kentucky today to visit the area where I grew up and check on some of my property.  One piece of property is in a secluded area called Milo which is near Tomahawk.  If you're from the county, you know it.  Anyway, during my time there, I saw two signs along the road advertising items for sale.  The first one offered homestead eggs for only $3.50/dozen.  The second one was directing me to a business that sells elk and bison meat (yes, there are elk herds there but I'm not sure about bison).  Unfortunately, that business was closed today, but I did get a chance to stop at the house selling eggs.  I bought three dozen and had a great conversation with the owner.  Apparently, he's a retired truck driver who last lived in Montana and now wants to live off the land in Kentucky.  I forgot to ask him how he ended up in my home county, especially with no previous connection it, but I guess I can ask him next ...

I got all excited after finding this deer track on the walk to the mailbox yesterday. Then I realized I don't have any reason to be tracking deer since they graze in my front yard all the time.

Another beautiful sunrise in West Virginia.  The snow has melted,  and it's supposed to be in the fifties today!

A young, White Siberian Husky has been visiting my house lately.  She belongs to one of my neighbors who's tried everything to keep her at home.  Yet, she just roams and roams and roams!  Anyway, she visits me roughly every other day and apparently the rest of the neighbors, too, as everyone seems to know her.  I don't mind, though, because she has a sweet disposition and never stays for very long. P.S. Her name is Sasha and she has deep blue eyes.
