Travelogue Slovakia (13) Goodbye Party!!
About a month before I left Slovakia, some of my friends decided to throw a 'goodbye' party for me. They rented a villa at a ski resort (although there wasn't any snow yet) and we spent the night there. We had a wonderful, catered meal as you'll see in the pictures. The roast pig was especially delicious and cooked in the traditional way.

Hi there. I found your blog on Dave's ESL cafe. I am so happy to find someone with experience living in Slovakia. I'm currently talking to a school - Jazyková škola SPEAK in Banská Bystrica. I was hoping you might have heard of them and could give me some info if you have the time. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteNo problem augusta and thanks for leaving a comment. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with that school nor the lay of the land with private language institutes in Slovakia. I can tell you that Banska' Bystrica is a really nice place to live especially the downtown area. I visited there once, but didn't get a chance to go back.
ReplyDeleteI think language schools in general pay a low salary in Slovakia, between 10,000-20,000 crowns but the cost of living is also low. I would highly recommend living there as the people are wonderful and the country is just beautiful. If you have any specific questions about the culture, etc., please don't hesitate to ask.
