Thai Kickboxing, etc.

Still at the traditional village outside of Bangkok circa '97.  I enjoyed watching the kickboxing and colorful dancing!

Some More Scenes from Prague

I just love both of these views including the winding cobblestone streets.

I wish these pictures could convey what I actually saw that night.  It was a feast for the eyes!

Bangkok Village2

More dancing from this village.  I especially like the extended fingernails and the timed dancing between the sticks!

Still Longing for Georgia

Well, no pictures, no exciting travel stories in this post.  I just wanted to write about what's been on my mind today and really, for the last five months. You know, I have traveled all over the world to some great places.  While in the military, I lived in Bavaria for three years and what a beautiful area that was.  Later, I spent extensive time in Italy/Greece and really enjoyed both the countries and the people.  More recently in '06, I was in Slovakia and have wonderful memories of the times I shared with friends there.  Still, there's just something about Georgia that is difficult to quantify.  Is it the beauty of the country that calls me back?  Is it the hospitable nature of the people?  I think it goes deeper than that.  In Georgia, you can feel the suffering the people have endured over the centuries as it has been passed down in the collective consciousness.  Yet, you can also observe the positive attitudes they display every day despite past injustices.  Victim…

Changing of the Guard

and a wonderful statue in the same area in Prague.

Notice the swords.  The video's even more amazing!

Bangkok Village

I visited this village just outside of Bangkok back in '97.  While there, I saw traditional Thai dancing, kick-boxing, etc.  I'll post all those pics in the next few days.

Another shot from the traditional dance I attended in the Repubic of Georgia last November!

Crocodile Farm!

These pictures were snapped back in '01 at a crocodile farm just outside of Bangkok.  I had thought of jumping in and saving the person being swallowed by the croc' but decided that you just have to let nature takes its course sometimes.  Right???

More Georgian Dancing!

A continuation of photos from the last few weeks.

St. Vitus Cathedral (Prague)

As my exploration of Prague's 'Old City' continued, I snapped these pictures of St.Vitus Cathedral, a part of the Prague Castle complex.  Please let me know which is your favorite!

Kelly AFB Tour2

A T-38 that landed while we were inspecting the other aircraft.

Here are three pictures of the 'Old City.'  I tell you, they don't make them like that anymore!  I posted a story about this trip in the past so just do a search on this site for 'Prague' in order to read more about it.

Kelly AFB Tour

Last Thursday, I got to take a tour of the flightline at Kelly Annex in conjunction with my job.  These pictures show a front view of a T-6 'Texan' trainer used to train student-pilots.  It was a very informative tour!

Here's another from the same performance!

Traditional Dance Performance

I saw this performance just a few weeks before I left Georgia.  It was amazing and I can't believe I almost missed it!

Happy Easter!

Here's wishing a 'Happy Easter' to all my friends around the world. I wish I could be there with you!

Georgian Video: Music and Dancing!

Lilia, Here is a video of typical Georgian music/dancing played at a restaurant.
