Can you imagine living in a house like this suspended on the water?

This is sort of a floating market further out in the lake that all the boats will bring one to.

Heading out to the deeper water in the lake!

Still departing the 'port' when I saw this scene of fruit vendors delivering their produce to the local market.

Tonle Sap Lake (Cambodia)

Image
After visiting Angkor Wat (for one day which doesn't allow one to see much), I rented a boat in order to cruise "Tonle Sap" lake, the biggest lake in SE Asia.  If memory serves me, this picture shows where I boarded the boat before we headed out for the deeper water.  I will post more pics of the lake soon.

Angkor Wat12

Image
Once again, just adding pictures from trips taken long ago.  This is a continuation of my Angkor Wat series of pics taken on a trip in '05.  At the time, I was residing in Saudi Arabia and had not yet moved to Texas.  I am amazed at how trees overcome stone over the centuries like this one has.

On the Road to Tadjourah2

This is another picture taken within 50 yards of the one below.  I wish I could have seen more of Djibouti than I actually did but the lack of infrastructure made that a bit challenging.

On the Road to Tadjourah

Image
I just thought I'd post some 'leftover' pictures from Djibouti.  I took this picture on the same trip that yielded the photos from Lake Assal (look in the right margin for Djibouti posts).  Anyway, this picture shows the coastline (and some swimmers) on the way to Tadjourah.  Tadjourah is on the northern coast of the "Gulf of Tadjourah" almost opposite the capital, Djibouti City.  In the background, you can see what looks like a burial mound although it's not.  There are some amazing geological formations in that part of the world.

New Design

I'm not sure how I feel about this new design.  The background seems confusing to me as the pictures in it distract me from the pictures I've posted.  What do you think?

A Quick Update

I need to start posting more, I know.  I think I'll start going through my older photos for some possibilities.  I could start snapping more pictures locally.  Hopefully, I'll be traveling this fall but won't reveal the country until it's confirmed.  Not Djibouti this year!
