Earlier in the week, I visited Monserrate, a mountain that overlooks Bogota. It's 10,341 feet above sea level at the summit and provides the most majestic views of the city. I wanted to climb up to the top so badly, but the trail was closed the day I was there. Therefore, I had to buy a ticket for the 'funicular' (a type of train) to transport me. After seeing how steep it was, I realized the trail being closed was probably for the best.
